This is quite some rework on the block, wouldn't it be a better idea to fit a V12 engine in a type 51 block?

How does that look with regard to the exhaust pipes ? Is there space to remove the plugs [without removing the exhaust branch-although that may be an acceptable requirement to achieve a better burn pattern.]

I dont think that space would be a problem having looked at photos, although I would not like to remove the plugs with a hot motor !

I've read that those Chevrolet LS1 motors kick out some serious horsepower, perhaps one could be cast into a kind of rectangular alluminium block to like like a type 35. Not strictly speaking a geniune Bugatti mod, but what the hell...

My Type 40 had twin ignition and was noticably faster than my T37.Bugatti tried plugs on both side of the prototype royale block as you know Greg.So why are you agin it?

if Bugatti tried it with the Royale and the 46 engine , and did not use it later , there must be a reason for .
