There is a picture of Philippe in #4920 with registration 2677-RB6 at the 07/29 Nürburgring race so you might have to correct your records.
....
And you forgot to mention that Zanelli also bought #4921 of Philippe and had Foresti race it under the Chilean flag in the San Sebastian GP 1929.
Regards, Bugwrench

Is it possible that the registrations are mixed up? Then the whole thing would make much more sense.

You suggest that Helle-Nice owned multiple cars which certainly is not true.

Would be pleased if you can help identifying the mystery of this car.

Also #4930 was not sold to Lehrfeld after the 1929 San Sebastian GP but in 04/30.

You are right, in 1929 he still had his Opel.

Legaleagle is entitled to his opinion, as I am entitled to dismiss it as drivel. I will not be prescribed as to whom I must show 'respect'.

I questioned the accuracy of his information, and I requested clarrification. I have received much factfilled feedback.

Legaleagle's bruised ego concerns me not.

No, I just checked it out.
Strange. Are you ready to share details?
Could they have swapped the cars, or may be the registrations, possibly for customs purposes?

4920
On 10th August, 1930, the car was entrusted to Edouard Grammont ; a promising motorcycle racer who raced as “Eddoura” . In an accident on the Eybens straight involving another Bugatti driven by Savora, Grammont crashed into a boundary wall of the property of M. Delamarch and Savora’s car ended up on a railway line.

I sincerely doubt that this car has been rebuilt....!

While I agree that this may seem unlikely, 4920 was rebuild and is still around with a continuous history. If you care to look at the relevant photo caption in Raffaelli - from which the wreckage pictures originate - you can already see this confirmed by Raffaelli. As an explanation for the rebuild I would offer that Marcel Rousselet, may have wanted back what he loaned in the original condition.
