Pietro Bordino was killed during practice for the Vth Cicuito di Alessandria on the 22nd of April 1928. He hit a dog with his Bugatti T35C (4866) which jammed the steering and plunged the car into a tributary of the Tanaro river which ran next to the track, killing the unfortunate Il Diavolo Rosso instantly.

I like this thread, it gave an excuse to read Memoirs of a Bugatti Hunter again, and I haven't been with Antoine for the longest time .......

Also, for the life of me I cannot think of a snappy reply to DJ Dirk's post. Being lost for words is so out of character for my kind.

Never mind, so the list of people having the extraordinary good taste to die in a Bugatti is growing, but surely it's not complete? So come on, who else kicked the bucket in a Bugatti?

Kind Regards
Johan

Well, was he killed by the propeller or by the engine?

He was the first American Soldier killed in WW1!

I'm counting 27 yet (Thanks GCL - Wales!).

With one baby born in a Bugatti, that leaves the balance on 26 at present.

How about the "Bugatti Widows"? The wives of those continuously on the internet, seeking information, collecting chassis-numbers and writing Wiki's and books or laying under their Bugatti to adjust and grease? Are they victims of Bugatti as well??
