if you `ll ave a look at the photo-site, there is a nice shot of a T49
( 492o2???). but the most interesting thing is, that a T56 is visible behind the car.

best regards
mike

If look behind the Type 49, you can also see the Kellner bodied Royale.
1931 Paris Salon.

This is my old T56 which Jaques Violet [boss of the french drinks company "Byrrh" ] bought from the 1931 Motor show stand. And for which I still have the logbook. He used it to drive around his estate at Perpignon called the Villa Palauda. The aluminium rear axle had welding evidence of a rear ender at some time.Hardly surprising if one considers the speed range of the T56,slow/slower/very slow/extreemly slow/backwards.Great toy, which I took to park beside the brighton road for the Brighton run.One small problem was the brake pedal which was screwed with wood screws to the wooden floorboards. It used to come away sometimes !

You can spot the difference between the Kellner Royale at the Paris Salon in 1931 from the Olympia Motor show of 1932 because the wing mounted running lights had not yet been fitted.
Just a point for the train spotters amongst us.

141. Type 41, Chassis # 41141, Reg. 3293 J4, Royale

Type 41, Kellner body 2-door Sedan, Paris Motor show 1932.

Photo No: 141
Negative No: 6_151_1
Type: 41
Chassis No: 41141
Reg: 3293 J4
Coachwork: Kellner body 2-door Sedan
Location: Paris Motor show
Date: 1932
Album: 11

The above photo plus inscription is from the Bugatti Trust, claiming it to be from the 1932 Paris show. On p257 of Jonathan Wood's book the same photo does state it to be from the 1931 Paris Show.

Just to make sure - these photos are all of the Bugatti stand at the 1931 Paris Salon, right?

Thanks
Johan

Definately in France, Hachette is a French publisher, and there is a sign under Hachette which says:
... vente ici (in English: ... for sale here)

Those shots were definately taken at the 1931 Paris Salon- the Trust has it wrong. Just uploaded a photo of the kellner at olympia in 1932. This was where the Royale was advertised for sale for £6500, or £5250 for the bare chassis. Notice that the car is now fitted with the wing mounted side lights.
Johan maybe you can stick it onto this thread- I still havent mastered it!

I turned it. By the way: does not need to insert with these photos.

While I'm at it, am I correct in believing that the moulding around the windows and the bonnet top were both yellow, the rest of the body black and the wheels were finished the same as the Berline de Voyage's, ie, polished disk, red ring and the cooling slots a dull metal finish?

Am I further correct in believing that it was the factory who changed these colours to the present black & blue (or two-tone blue?) at the request of Briggs Cunningham?

Thanks
Johan
