an intersting add. in 1961, JB nethercutts company ( merle norman cosmetics) ran into financial problems, and he asked harrah, if he could help him, buying his collection.this collection had about 3o cars at that time including 4 duesenbergs, 3 RR, 9 packards, the famous dupont towncar and
4 lincolns.the price was $ 15o.ooo.-- ( worth of the cars was around 4oo.ooo.-- at that time !!) but harrah did`nt have this money in his car-buying budget, so he took it out of his cassinos and flew to JB, cause he needed the money cash and fast...later. JB bought many cars back from harrah.......

mike

PS the T23 opera coupe is one of the few existing brescia closed bodies
which had`nt butchered for a racing two seater

And thanks to tireless Uwe herewith the Harrah T44 :

This car has appeared at several auctions recently, but I never realised it was the Harrah car. Thanks Uwe, now, about the T46 and T30 you e-mailed me about - are you sure they are both Harrah cars?

That's RM Auctions in Monterey
do you know what year? because i can't remember seeing that car

i'll need to check in my catalogue's & images for that one then

well, it must have been before 2004 since i don't have it in the cataloque's since then

J.B. Nethercutt won the 1959 Pebble Beach Concours with this car before selling to Bill Harrah. One of the cars bought back by J.B. after Bill Harrah's death. A very beautiful car, it is still in The Nethercutt Collection

are you sure it's with Nethercutt?
i didn't see it there & it's not listed in their museum book

those pictures where taken at the polo field at Pebble & the car seems to have swiss plates on it

# 57775 is not in the JB nethercutt collection. I ve looked into the book on the nethercutt-collection, which was issued only a few years ago, and it was not listed in the inventory.
nethercutt and harrah had been the "founders" of the american way of restauration : " better than new" in the late 5o`s.
