However, the photos show a type 35A or drastic alterations to the car.

So who uploaded the photos, and what is the source of the serial number?

Why has nobody said the unthinkable - that this COULD be a BRAND NEW 35A RECREATION. It certainly looks like one.

Perhaps someone who knows the owner could ask him or her for the car's history.

Why don't the Club Registrars contribute to this website ?

The picture was uploaded by Helge Hauk, if I am correct. He is adding info the the WIKI, just like Bugatti69. (you are all invited as well...)

A recreation is possible, but is hard to tell from the pictures.

I will upload all pictures to the photo server, to have them in one place at least. (will be tonight)

Possible, but all replicas I know are T35B, cause that's the standard type of Pur Sang. But even so, it would be much easier to take a serial of a disappeared T35A. There are still plenty available, and there would be no discrepancy.

More likely that #4842 is simply wrong, #4742 was an A, and also #4832 and #4852.

There are plenty of fake type 37s around so what's so implausible with the concept of a fake type 35A.

Why did the contributor who posted the Wiki entry list a type 35B engine no. for this car when it quite clearly isn't correct ?

This is #4842 or #4853:

On E-mail I got the following remark:

This is not the "WIKI 4842".
Which one it is? I do not know.
The holes for the brake cables of the front brakes are in a different location. This position differs from the picture with the engine detail.

There are different positions during production for the T35, T37 and T51.

To Michael Muller, Williamswinner, Bugwrench, Bugatti69 and Herman.

I have nothing to add, but I am reading every word, every opinion and every suggestion. I implore you to carry on picking at every bit of information until such time as the exact provenance and specification of this car is known.

Williamswinner is right, why can't the club registrars or owner give some input? Something's going on here - You keep on writing - I will keep on reading.

I thank you for your perseverance.

With much Admiration
Johan Buchner

Of course this is not "WIKI 4842"!
Because "WIKI 4842" shows a T35A!!
But the chassis number is that of a T35B....
