A lot of mistakes in the Wiki!
Registration "IY-21166" has nothing to do with #4393. We only know that after re-registration in early 1928 it had "IY-2....".

"IY-21166" belongs to Bremme's later T35B. Chassis number of this car is unknown, but it was either #4842 or #4853. These 2 early T35B had been delivered to German importer Omnia at Munich in March and May 1927, and besides August Momberger, who bought #4806 after conversion to 35B in March 1927, only Emil Bremme and Eckhart Graf von Kalnein raced this type in Germany in 1927. Kalnein's first filed appearance was on 29 May at the Hohnstein hillclimb, and that of Bremme on 24 May at the Wiesbaden "Hohe Wurzel" hillclimb. So one of these cars was sold to Bremme, the other to Kalnein, but I do not know which one. Only if there is a appearance as early as April 1927 for one them the numbers can be clearly coordinated.

And of course Kalnein has absolutely nothing to do with Bremme's #4393, and also not Kurt Kiefer, who in 1933 bought #4796, the ex-Charlie Kappler T35T.

Emil Bremme owned 3 different type 35.
(1) T35, #4393, raced 1925/26, then converted to road-going coupé.
(2) T35B, #4842 or #4853, raced 1927.
(3) T35B, #4878, Bachmann Grand Sport, substituted the coupé in 1928.
Before he owned a T13 Brescia (raced 1923/24), and later a T49 with Gläser roadster body.

PS: I will NOT edit the Wiki because due to personal reasons I keep my fingers out of it.

Not correct. The car ist NOT #4878, which looked completely different.

It is Bremme's earlier T35 #4393, which he substituted in May 1927 against a T35B (#4842 or #4853, with the other one went to Eckhart Graf von Kalnein). A photo from my archive showing #4393 has been posted earlier in this thread, clearly showing the registration IZ-61837, wich can also be seen on the opening photo of this thread. When buying the T35B he converted the old T35 into a road car with coupé bodywork. Only in 1928 be substituted the coupé against another T35B (#4878) which received the Bachmann GS body. Strange, because he stopped racing #4842/4853 already at the end of 1927, so why not converting this one into a road car? But probably he intended to resume racing later, because he sold #4842/4853 only as late as 1930 (to Ernst-Günther Burggaller).

Reason for the wrong identification may be the registration, which on the 2nd photo (that from the Trust) reads "IY-2....", with the registration of #4878 indeed was IY-21166. The background is simply administrational, the Rhine Province until 1927 had prefix "IZ", after that it was divided into Cologne (still "IZ") and Düsseldorf (now "IY"). therefore Bremme, who lived at Barmen (Wuppertal) hat to re-register his cars from "IZ" to "IY". The 2nd photo has been taken later than the 1st one, with re-registration in between.

Hi Michael,
thanks for the great post - welcome back ...

Bugatti 35 B # 4878 was never a Bremme Car.
It is my car since 1975 it is the car of Graf Eckart von Kalnein.
who bought it in 1928.
Deliverd from the works in Molsheim to Omnia Munic.

The last Type 35 B Bremme bought in 1927 was # 4842, which he sold 1928 to E.G.
Burggaller, when Bremme retired from racing.
The Bremme car with that "courious German Body" was a much earlier car on a Type 35 chassis.

The man who claimed # 4878 as Bremme car and as his car, is a lousy "swindler"
and he knew that, when he used 4878 . He took that number, knowing that it never belonged to the car, which he bought in parts in Poland without motor and any number!!!
The curious Bremme Body made in Germany, he found appart somewhere else,
and put it on his car, using my chassis number and telling everybody this is now the famous Bremme car!!!

My car was build in April 1928 , at that time Bremme had already sold all his cars, as he retired from racing.
