Dear Friends. I read the whole story on this thread. In our book we have photos from the three Bugatti. We have recent photos, photos of the restorations, and papers of the restorations. We all got that from the owner in good faith. Everyone has the right to show his properties or to hide them. I think, that the owner has a a right to his privacy.

If we act the way we do above, writers won't get any real information anymore for their books. And that would be a shame and a pity. I promissed the owner to respect his privacy. I hope others do the same. Look in othermans kitchen, when you are invited. The end of the Dovaz-collection was forced by people who didn't respect Michel's right of acting as he wishes and by people who didn't respect his privacy. Let's act as cyvilized people.

I miss the designation SC at the spare wheel, or isn't original?

Tere are younger photos of the car. At the moment it is in Germany. It's not a car of our "unknown French owner" It was the favourite car of Michel Dovaz. He didn't sell it in 1990, but gave it to a friend, Michel Breuil.

You won't believe it. Last week I got an e-mail from the journalist, who wrote the article in "der Stern" in september 1983 with the photos of Hesselmann. In that sixteen pages article he wrote very bad of Michel Dovaz and his cars. And gues what.
In the article he told, that the owner was a 54 years old journalist in Paris who also wrote books about wine, was born in Switzerland and had an estate 100 km south of Paris where the cars were.
It wasn't difficult anymore to identify the owner (Michel) and so Michel got a lot of trouble and had to remove his cars.
And this gentleman orders me to remove his name in the next editions of the book.

First lesson for journalists: Everything you write, will once come back to you. In a good way, or in a bad way.

Our book about the collection of Michel Dovaz will be end Mai available in French with the title:Les destin des beautés endormies" Editions de Palmiers.

This is the third language. Dutch, English and French. Has anyone a suggestion for a German publisher.

Dear Ard and others:

Has there been any official confirmation of the loss of the Milion-Guiet T50 in the German fire? I have seen words, but no photographs or any real confirmed news.

Thanks,

Sandy

as far as I know, most of the cars are not saveable. but the greatest loss is the porsche mixte racer from 19oo/o1.
see an article and a photo on:
