Here is what I can gather, the first Junek T35 was 4329 (engine number unknown) was delivered to the Juneks on 21/02/1927 according to Roger Howard in Matthews' book while Conway has Aug. 1924 in brackets as the delivery date to the Juneks. Howard also claim this car to be untraced, while Conway says it survives in the Czech Rep. with a T30 engine. Howard says it was a Lyon G.P. car, Conway does not. No photo. The confusion starts.

Conway is correct. This car is still in the Czech Republic, including the Type 30 engine. The car is partly restored, but still far away from ready.

Hi

Myself and Uwe has been driving each other crazy about specific details about the Junek racers, and in the Dutch forum Gerrit's thread about them has added even more confusion. For now could someone please just clear up the following :

What is the relationship between 4328, 4329, Friderich, Junek and Lyon. Don't suppose it could be something as simple as them being two seperate cars both driven Friderich?

What engine is now in 4868?

I am slowly losing my mind, please help. I'm sure Uwe would appreciate it too.

Johan

Hi,
4328 and 4329 were surely 2 separate cars. 4328 was driven by Friderich in Lyon 1924. 4329 didn´t took part in that race. The Juneks had 1 of these cars. And now the controversy starts:

Elizabeth Junek repeatedly stated that after the Lyon race, they were offered by Ettore to buy whatever car they like and they chose ex Friderich 4328 (just like they had done 2 times before with 4001 and 4059). Already on 9th September 1924 Cenek Junek took part with this car in a hill climb race Lochotin-Tremosna. There are at least 2 fotos of Cenek Junek siting in this car. Interestingly, the car still has the straight side tires which make troubles at Lyon.

But according to the factory recods, 4328 was delivered to Brosselin, Paris.

Today the car is still in the Czech Republic. The original engine probably didn´t survive as the car is now fitted with an engine from T30. The chassis plate is also lost so it is almost imposible to say for sure if it is 4328 or 4329.

Regards
Petr

The Junek´s car is still in the Czech Republic. So it couldn´t have been sold to France. It has the early type frame with bolt on stiffening pieces beneath it´s side members and wooden inserts in their front part. It must be either 4328 or 4329 as it has frame Nr 6. This corresponds with order number of 4328 that was also 6th T35 made. This is , of course, not a proof, that this car really was 4328.
