Bonhams created a lot of fuss about this single T57SC. Other collectors woke up by this, also having a go to see if they can fetch a good price... A bit of a snowball effect.

A 57SC is a car delivered by the factory with a blower.
This car is an 57S fitted later with a non Bugatti Blower. It should not be described as a 57SC. Not even Bonhams describes it as such. Please take care. (this is the way WIKI is fed with the not historical correct information!)

I checked the WIKI (http://www.bugattibuilder.com/wiki/index.php?title=57502) and it is not stated that this car is an original T57SC. It is described as T57S(+C).
The description lacks the now published history, but what is published on the WIKI is correct.

I do not understand what this "WIKI bashing" is coming from. Every now and then I get a mail from people who are upset about WIKI contents. If one finds an error, fix it. It is that simple.

According to Laugier there were only three T57SC :
Image
57453/2SC - the "Works" Atlantic, or Coupe Aero if you prefer.
Image
57542/28SC - the Dovaz Atalante
Image
57561/32SC - supplied as a chassis only to Prince Louis Napoleon Bonaparte, now with Ghia body in the Schlumpf Museum.

It must be kept in mind that the factory upgraded many cars to SC spec. I think the desription T57S(+C) is as good as any.

I remain a fan of WIKI, and Christian is always prepared to change and/or ammend entries as may be needed. For instance, the second photo in the entry for 57542 is actually that of 57562/35S. I have a feeling it will soon be changed. Respect.

Kind Regards
Johan

the one from Dr. Carr on auction at Bonham's is very different from all factory T57SC's, even if I include the ones that received the "C" later.

This one is, I believe, the only T57S to be fitted with a non-Bugatti blower. I sure hope that it won't be replaced by a (replica) Bugatti blower by an over-active restorer, after the sale!
