Post subject:  Bugatti Type 46 (46122)
This car has never appeared in any of the Registers, and I was completely unaware of its existence until the publication of the T46 book. I see that it's history has not yet been recorded on the Register, so herewith a synopsis. Unfortunately I do not have access to a scanner capable of producing good quality pictures. Can someone help? Quite an attractive car, and very original. Herewith the available information :

Chassis Number : 46122
Original Engine Number : 2
Current Engine Number : 2

This chassis, initially fitted with Million-Guet faux cabriolet body ordered by the factory, was produced in August 1929 as part of the first batch of 10 chassis. M. Salvanhac whose address was 33 Rue d'Artois, Paris ordered the, by now, complete car on the 19th of November 1929 and it was delivered to him on the 7th of December 1929. The price was 95 000 Frs. for the Chassis and 40 000 Frs. for the Coachwork.

On the 12th of October 1931 Salvanhac traded in 46122 for 46515 fitted with Vanvooren coach-work. The price for the new car was 55 000 Frs. "avec reprise 46122"

On the 24th of September 1932 the factory had 46122 fitted with new conduite intérieure body by Vanvooren. In spite of this refreshing the car remained unsold until the 3rd of June 1935 when agent M. Matile of the Bretagne garage, 20 Rue Racine, Nantes (Loire Inferieure) took delivery on behalf of Andre Lepert, who lived in Lure near Azay Le Rideau. The price came to 38 000 Frs. and M. Lepert kept 46122 until his death. In 1972 collector A Prost became the next owner and it remained in his family until 2008 when it moved to the current, undisclosed, owner.
