There appears to be some confusion about the coachbuilder of this rather attractive roadster, Conway/Greilshamer claims it to be a Bugatti body, Price says it is a Gangloff body and the Register claims it to be Gangloff by Paul Nee. In the introduction chapter to the Barrie Price book, Ian Preston described his long-term ownership of this car, and it was him who moved the spare wheels from the front fenders to the rear. When owned by Continental cars this was one of the group of mouth-watering Bugattis photographed in front of their premises shortly after the war. Could somebody please post that photo? I have no information about the period when 50139 was owned by the Giles brothers.

I think by removing the spare wheels altogether the looks of the car will improve even more.

I am curious to see the Continental picture as well...

Very probably. Do you have it in a large format? Or does the forum software shrink the picture?

happily I am better with square headed 7mm bolts than computors.I am afraid I have no idea how to improve on the image.I took the photograph this morning from the full size original on my wall.40x20cm.I will try different settings on picasa and send them direct to you.
