Does anybody know the Type 57 Ventoux consigned to Coys Monaco sale (Lot 230)?

http://www.coys.co.uk/auctions/lot.php? ... &id=56270#

At first sight does not look like the same car as the Wiki entry of the same chassis number. Can anybody shed any light?

No idea.

2 possibilities:

-1. Stolen identity. Can only be checked by comparing frame numbers.

more likely in this case:

-2. Body change. The text tells us the car has undergone "thorough restauration" in which case it is very well possible that the car lost its original James Young body, and a (new or old) Ventoux body, which many people find more appealing, is fitted.

Thanks Scuderia CC.

Do you know if the description is accurate? Is the car a good one?

How could Coys make such a mistake on the chassis number?

The engine number is 159 and some people are more intelligent than others.

Would it be a typo, or a (stupid) mistake.

I presume (correctly?) that Coys would do their homework before offering the car...

Just for the record:

I hate these Auction catalog texts.
These socalled "Dutch specialists" should NOT be confused with real specialists!
Neither of the several shops that worked on the engine had seen a Bugatti engine before.

Does anybody know if it sold, or for how much?
