On Jaap's Bugatipages there was an item in 2006 on a discovery in Prague of a (O-) Uhlik bodied Bugatti: http://www.bugattipage.com/2006news.htm ![]() I tried but could not find any info since the Item by Jaap. I would love to find out more. So who knows more about this discovery ? Which type - chassisnumber ? Is it being restored ? Is it rebuilt with a more regular body ? Are there any photo´s of how the car looked when it was stil driven ? |

The Car is a type 43 #43217. At the moment the original chassis is restored and will be equipped with a Grand Sport body. The Uhlik body was later sold to a well known writer of a specialized Bugatti book who has planned to place the body (With modified nose) on a replica chassis. |

Thank you. Then it must have looked like this ![]() I was hoping it looked better. This is more like a mix of a BMW 328 and a Atlantic: not well shaken - only a little stirred ![]() ![]() |

There is a sketch in the Type 43 book how the new design will look like… And it will look much better with a standard Type 43 nose…. Also the side windows will look much better than the original design. |

What was on offer was the body only, it was sold to Bohuslav Klein. It will be built up again on a Bugatti chassis, as far as I know a T44. The chassis, 43217, has been sold earlier and is used for another project. Below a picture of the car as it was: ![]() Below 43217 as it is now: ![]() |
