Dear Jean: I visited the garage about 8 years ago. A few things were for sale, but not everything. The GP Bugattis all seemed to have the same chassis number for registration and tax purposes, but upon pointing this out, Mr. G., the owner, pulled up a seat cushion where the REAL chassis plate was affixed! There was a T23 with Lavocat et Marsaud coachwork, chassis 2152, the twin to my late father's chassis 2153...it was not for sale. Cheers, Sandy |

Dear Mike: Mr. G was not particularly interested in sharing chassis numbers. I saw the 8 valve that Jean referred to, but it must be totally hidden by now as it was barely visible eight years ago. It was complete with original coachwork. I did not get the impression that the Alfa 1750 was a totally genuine car. A few of his cars were on loan to the nearby museum in Mougins, including a T50 which had lost its original engine to Ray Jones and was now fitted with a T46 engine. There was one T44 or T49 which had been in a front end collision and looked like it had been pulled out of a French scrapyard...and probably was. Cheers, Sandy |

tanks sandy ! I too think the alfa is not a real thing, same as for the talbot racing car. I visited mougin some 25 years ago and I think it has closed some time ago?? remember seeing the T5o and the ex williams T35, also as a fan of veteran & edwardian cars the big 19o4 gladiator racer and the dellauney-belville , which was described by raffaeli in his book. has mr. G. ever had the idea of restoring the cars, or does he only "like" them like michel douvaz. on some pics ( the T23 L&M) some restauration work is vissible. regards from austria mike |

Cheers, Sandy Mr G did the T44 damage himself one night after getting almost home from a meeting. There was obviously a splendid liquid lunch involved.he just dragged it into the shed and there it has sat ever since. There is also a quite nice T57 in another celler.Ex boc uk |
