The first part of the challenge is to a post photo of 2010 Pebble Beach Car of the Show here : Part two only applies if it is not a Bugatti - justify the inclusion of another marque by linking the winner to an aspect of Bugatti history. Kind Regards Johan King of South Africa |

video cameras at Pebble Beach: http://www.pebblebeach.com/golf/pebble- ... -golf-cams Usually someone will orient the camera on the 18th green to show the ramp/show/awards. At least they have the past few years. Thus you can watch as BoS happens and "print screen" to get the first picture -- @4-5pm PST. |

And the winner is: 1933 Delage DS De Villars Roadster. Per Johan's question above: country of chassis origin; coachbuilder (I remember Type 46 with de Villars coachwork) It was a pretty wide open field this year in terms of the competition. Glad to see it. Now I just want to see a postwar car win BoS -- there have been a few worthy but overlooked in the past. Also there was a general comment on the field about the Figoni&Falaschi modified Atlantic -- that if the car was eligible for competition, it might have walked away with the trophy. I'll find out later if it received any awards/trophies even though "not judged". The PB Committee does honor cars at times that aren't "judged". ![]() |

Congratulations Mark - I stayed up until after 03H00 waiting for the results and I must admit, this is a beautiful Delage, well worthy of BOS. Question : Are all class-winners eligible for BOS? I got the impression that there were only two candidates last year, the winning Horch and a very pretty dark blue Siata. I'm particularly interested in whether Sam Mann's Graber bodied Duesenberg was in the running this year - the Delage is certainly beautiful, but so is that Duesenberg. Now let me see if I can find a profile shot of the Delage and the identity of the owner. Thanks again Johan. PS. Mark do you know if the 2-tone silver-grey Talbot Teardrop owned by the Nethercutts is in fact their blue and silver one with the fully enveloped front wing spats cut away? |

1933 Delage D8S by De Villars owned by Jim Patterson and restored by RM coachworks, their 4th win -also 2001 ; 2004 & 2006. The Delage was up against the afore-mentioned Mann Duesenberg and Arturo Keller's Park Ward W.O. Bentley. ![]() ![]() Johan |

Overall I think the concours this year was a little more exciting than last year - that Horch 853 was really the only truly stunning and BOS-worthy car on the field in '09 IMHO. The judges' choice this year did truly surprise me and - though some Delage D8 & D8 120 are among my favourite cars - I don't see what the fuss is all about with this particular example honestly, but it is a beatiful car for sure. I'd have gone more for the Graber Duesenberg, the 500K Special Roadster or either Chip Connor's 8C 2900B Touring Spyder or Simon Moore's 2900A Alfa Spyder, but I guess they wanted to pick a car that has not been shown at PB before. |
