I would assume this is an external oil cooler. Am I correct?

Thanks, Greg.

I might add to my new friends on this forum that I have not come here as someone who knows a lot about these cars, though I have done quite a bit of research on the T57 SC, particularly the Atlantic, and on the T59.

As a Bugatti neophyte who is hungry to learn, and as a longtime classic car aficionado, I appreciate your support.

At the right is the brake compensating system. Oh, I found a (german) shop which sells square head bolts in miniature:

I recommend you buy yourself "Bugatti", by Jonathon Wood. in my opinion the best starting point to further understand these cars in general. Not too dear either.

Many thanks, gentlemen.

Speaking of the brake compensating system, my remaining question about it is where and how the cables are routed at the rear wheels. Is there another pulley there?

On the subject of receiving information from various sources, this week I saw a thread at the Antique Automobile Club of America site (aaca.org) regarding the late car collector Harry Austin Clark, Jr., who used to photograph and sell postcards of his cars and those of other collectors. Coincidentally, I had just purchased one of Mr. Clark's postcards of T59 #59124, which I posted on the thread; I then received information from the man at Vintage Auto who had removed the car's fenders prior to its restoration to its original GP form. Small world.

Mr. Clark's postcard, dated 1970 is below (original size 3"x5"). At the time of the photograph, the car was owned by Dieter Holterbosch of New York City.

Herman – do you know anyone who sells miniature body bolts to hold the safety wires?

I have not come across them, or anything that can be used for it.

The 1:8 Art Collection Auto model had them, but they are too big for you.

I guess the only option is to make them yourself. Lot of work, though...
