Is this the replica that was crashed, after which the chassis was sold as an original? |

Correct Jaap This is the 100 % original 21st century Pur Sang from Argentina driving with the number '4595' (Pur Sang gave it the identity BO 302). On this picture each and every part is from Anadon After the accident the owner was hoping to qualify for the 'three out of five' rule by replacing some original Molsheim parts including a frame. For me it remains a Pur Sang with some Molsheim parts Kees |

We're all very much preoccupied with originallity here, but: did the driver (and passenger?) survive? And: What was the cause of the accident? Some of us would be happy if it would have been caused by failure of some PS parts... |

He was thrown out of the car and escaped remarkably- to everybody's surprise- without harm. Otherwise the tone in my reply would have been different As far as I know it was not a mechanical problem but he just drove too fast. |

How odd, even though I know now that this is a modern replica I take no joy at its destruction. No matter how recently it was created I find it no less beautiful than an original T35. Less interesting, less valuable, less original for sure, but no less beautiful. The originality debate shows no sign of abating. Long may it continue. Kind Regards Johan Buchner PS. Udo the broken wheels may be as a result of the accident, not the cause. |

If you buy one day a original part like for example a chassis with original papers , and later you find out that it is made in argentina , we talk again about it . I got the info that one wheel did broke , the car did rollover and the other wheels did broke . |

Time to check the wheels for pre-accidental cracks... |

Herman wrote: Time to check the wheels for pre-accidental cracks... I would be looking very closely at these wheels.I have a damaged Bugatti wheel here which is very badly damaged after hitting a wall flat out.[ the driver died, the front axle was bent round almost 90 degrees until the wheel hit the side of the bonnet, but the chassis dumbirons did not break ] BUT it is still intact, very bent but not shattered like the wheels in the photograph.....It must be remembered however that this is a T51 wheel which was made stronger by the Bugatti factory so maybe the earlier wheels were a serious problem.
