There is an unknown T57 that I can give you a Chassis Number now. French Rego: 4424 FN 78 (F) is Chassis No 57380 and Engine No 254. This car is up for auction at :) Bonhams Sale No: 19288 on the 10 September 2011.

37quest I think you need new glasses, because the Bonhams Auction Sale 19288 is on the 10 September, 2011, Lot:409. As I stated in my first post. The 1936 Bugatti T57 Galibier Chassis No:57380 Engine No:254. It left the factory on the 25 January 1936. This information I got out of the "Bugatti 57 The Last French Bugatti. Written by Barrie Price". Bonhams have got the year wrong too, 1937.

Hi 1929bugatti thank you for your concern my glasses are fine :wink: I think you missed my point I was not saying the Bonhams sale was 2 weeks ago I was humorously attempting to point out that the identity of 57380 was established on august 3 where I posted its identity in the auction forum so your news was a little late see viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2502 . I think it was also cross posted in the bugatti pages the same day?
Interesting that you rely on secondary sources like price I would have thought looking at the factory records would be more thorough as a history student we were always taught never rely on secondary sources always look at the primary sorce texts.

I see 1936 Bugatti T57 Galibier Body by Van Vooren Chassis No 57380 Engine No 254 sold for 166,500 English Pounds including premiums. A lot more than the estimate of 40,000 to 50,000 English Pounds.

Yep went to £150 in the room then lost to someone further behind me but seemed like he would have gone higher he was certanly not stopping, i think bonhams had a good day.
