OK, I am on a tricky field here.

What was the personal life of Bugatti like?

There are massive amounts of pictures of cars, but I see hardly any on the personal life. Ettore did so much more then just building cars. He bred dogs and horses, had a large "orangerie", and what about the life in the surrounding buildings? The "Hostellerie du Pur Sang", the Chateau St Jean. etc.

Later in Normandie, and in Paris. Chateau Ermenonville?

I recall having seen just a few pictures, like the one with Carlo and his garden chairs. Cannot find it however...

Basicly the only thing I could find on the photo server...

I agree. Kindly keep French comments for the French language forum. The rest of Bugattibuilder utilises English, a second language for most of us, but a very practical sollution all the same. After all, me writing in Afrikaans, Herman in Dutch and Uwe in German would be very inconsiderate to those who do not understand Afrikaans, Dutch or German.

Aan die einde van die dag dien dit geen doel om andere in die donkerte te hou nie. Arrogante gekheid is so kleinsielig, nie waar nie?

Met vriendelike Groete

Life of Bugatti The life of the Bugatti cars is better known than the life of their creators. There exists quelqu' one which made many research - with more or less of happiness - and which in made a thesis. C' is a member of the forum: Aravis. Thanks to his research, one includes/understands better, without always all to explain, how the Bugatti machine functioned with l' time. The reproach that l' one can make with these studies, c' is qu' they are still a little confidential and only in French!

I love babelfish...

I talked to Aravis during the last Bugatti Festival about his thesis. Unfortunately, he doesn't want it get out yet.

Oh well, it is sometimes surprising to see how difficult it is to keep people with different languages together. The Dutch do have a certain advantage over other countries:

-no resyncronising of movies. Subtitles it is...
-at least 3, but mostly more languages at school, English already when 10 years old.

In a past life I learnt:
Dutch
English
German
French
Latin
(Ancient) Greek (forgot about 100% of that...)

Anyhow, please ask someone to translate, or use http://babelfish.yahoo.com for a translation. at least untill technology has improved...
