Post subject:  Type 35 Splined Hubs?

Since Bugatti used Rudge wheels, did he also use Rudge splined hubs? Are these hubs common to other cars? Were the spoked wheels interchangeable with the cast aluminum wheels? Thank-you for any information. Bill Longyard

Bugatti made his own hubs to the Rudge patent.These were for the wire wheel only.The hubs for the aluminium wheels were made deliberately different so as not to infringe the RW patent [which would have cost money] Bugatti aluminium wheels will not fit on WW hubs or vice versa.No Bugatti hubs are common to other cars,although there may be a very slight similarity between Bugatti hubs and those made in argentina by an outfit called pursang.[ This is likely to be no more than a passing resemblance]
