OK , my mistake . Both chassis are T57s . Top foto chassis has a crossmember with a mounting for the engine and gearbox . bottom crossmember has no mounting . Why ?

Sorry udo on my iPad I can't see what your photo shows. Are you looking at the difference between solid mounted 57 engins and later rubber mounted 57 engins?

I think your qustion is my answer . So early 57 have a solid mounted engine and later ones are rubber mounted . How looks the solid mounting ? It looks like the one on the foto with the rubber is a late conversion original it was a solid one .

Hi,

Changing fron solid mounted to rubber mounted would require a crankcase change as the solid mounted T57 engines were fixed on 4 points to the chassis.
None of these early crank cases had a compressor drive if I'm well informed.
As reproduction parts I only know rubber mounted crank cases from C&G.

Greetings:

I think , this 57 chassis is converted from solid to rubber mounts at the rear . Look at the holes in the chassis . The mounting plate went some cm forward . How looks the front engine mount ? How is it bolted to the chassis ?

Hi,

It looks moved but not converted from steady to rubber mounted.
The steady mounted engine is fixed further in the front with 4 bolts per attachment.
There are also some other differences for the cross members of the chassis (at least for the standard T57 chassis).
On early T57 with steady mounts it's for example possible to remove the gearbox without removing the engine what apparently can't be done on the rubber mount chassis.

As it looks like it has been moved forward is it possible or likely that some time in its life it was a blown(supercharged) car that has subsequently been altered?

What about the wheels ? All Atlantic have the same wheels ? Or all 57 have the same wheels ?
