Has the later one with hydraulic brakes 2 master cylinders , one for front and one for the rear ? Who has some fotos about it ? |

Hi, I can't imagine that they had double brake circuit those times. As far as I can see on engine bay pictures there is only one single master cylinder. Double circuit only became more common in the late 50's and mandatory in 67 in Germany. Greetings: minime |

So is it different to the usual setup. ![]() On the pictures I took so far I only can see the fluid pot and a copper line going to the master cylinder put those pictures were taken on a Ventoux. Some of the early cars also got modified from cable operation to hydraulic brakes according to some books this upgrade was also done in the factory. |

The picture you posted is quite small but is that an electrical brake pressure switch they fitted there? |

Correction It seems that on another picture there are well two feed lines going down to the master cylinder area so there are 2 cylinders fitted. I also have pictures of the underside from the T57 Galibier of the Dijon fort when it was at the London auction. That car has a rubber mounted engine but cable operated brakes. |

According to the trust only cars built in 1938-1940 were hydraulic Breaked ie all ruber mounted engines so any solid mounted engine cars with hydraulic breaks would ben retrofited as an 'update' weather factory fitted in period or not . |

so in the end you can say , any 57 can have anything , original or later fited . What about the Atlantics ? Should they have rubber mounting and hydraulic brakes ? Made in 1937 to 1938 |

All 57s came with cable operated brakes from new, but many were later modified with hydraulic. All 57s had the later, stiffer engine mounting. |

All 57s had the later stiffer engine mounting . All had the rubber mounting from new ? Is it stiffer ? I think the old mounting with no rubber is stiffer ? |

Sorry, not a good choice of words. I think the mod was more for smoothness than stiffness. |

So ,all 57s had from new NO rubber mounting and NO hydraulik brakes . Is this correct ? |

All had the later type of engine mount but cable brakes. |

if a 57 got converted from cable brakes to hydraulic brakes , how many parts got changed ? For sure the brake shoes . What about the brake plate holding the brake shoes . Only some holes drilled or must it be a different one ? |
