From the website: "In 2010 a completely original Bugatti Type 40 rolling chassis was unearthed in the UK. All mechanical parts were present, correct and untouched for over 50 years. The only item missing was the cars original bodywork." But no chassis number.... But I am sure our forum detectives will find out soon. Or maybe a UK member knows. What I like about it is the courage of the owner to recreate an unconventional body style, not neccesary to anyone's taste, and not a more regular "going" body style. But I am also curious if there were pictures availible of the original bodywork. |

Indeed not to everybodies liking... anyhow, the pictures of jan 2011 indeed show an old looking chassis, engine and radiator, so I guess this indeed is a "barnfind". No firewall, no chassis number. But the frame number must be there for certain. |

When compared my photos and early photos from Oliver Way blog there are many similar details. This chassis had engine with stamped chassis number 40681, but seller told me, that this was a replacement engine and really chassis number is 40484. Chassis plate was missing. In my opinion, body created by Oliver Way is unusual, but quality of work is very high. See attached pictures: |

In Poland in 70ties this model and and T35 were in every newsagents. There were also few oryginal cars but the histories of those cars are known only by their owners. Marek Jerzy |
