The Binder Royale mascotte will be auctioned, see http://www.arteautoauction.com/auction/xcAuctioncover1.asp. Wonder how much it will go for.

Tsss....

A lot of money for a mascotte!

One could also buy....

the remains of a 70 years sunken Brescia for that!

I think the other mascot made such serious money because it was of greater provenence than this one. It was said to have come from the Coupe Napoleon via Schlumpf. However, it could just as easily have come from the Park Ward car - Fritz ran away with the mascots from both cars....

Greg:

You surely know more than I do on this topic, but didn't the Park Ward have a "Spirit of Ecstasy" (Rolls-Royce) mascot? If it didn't by the time it got to Schlumpf's, wouldn't the replacement "Elephant" have been a copy?

Cheers,

Sandy

No Sandy - although in the very beginning, the Park Ward was photographed for the Autocar magazine with the Rolls Royce mascot fitted this was replaced within the first few months by Cuthbert Foster with the Bugatti elephant.
This stayed with the car throughout JLB's and Shakespear's ownership- in fact there are some photos on this very site showing the car being loaded onto a freight train bound for France with Shakespear fitting the elephant back on.
As is common knowledge, none of the cars today have genuine mascots fitted.
