All I can say is that when I wanted to make a "production run" of 50 "Bugattibuilder" hats, and I asked permission at Bugatti, I got a very nice letter from Audi, which is in charge of the protection of the brand, basicly claiming they would chop my head of if I would do the 50 hats.

So in a way, they are protection their brand...

In the Email they claim 3000 surviving Bugattis. I thought it was more in the region of 1800.

Although I'm not in the position to own a Bugatti Pur-Sang replica, I thought how would it be like. And it is not very nice to let excited people who see the car to think is an original, if u say nothing about the originality means you mislead intentionally the public, if you make however the statement that it is not an original at all, then comes the questions;
Why do you use the official badging? Are you trying to deceive? and then people look bad at you.
Personally, I would use a different badge, a close but distinct version of the original red Bugatti badge, and I wouldn't have any moral problems about the car.

Dear Udo

Thank you for publishing Mr Cannon's opinion, the last time I laughed this hard was on the morning of the 7th of November 2012.

Hello Johan, good to hear from you. Please explain the relevance of the date 7/11/12
to this ignorant reader.
BTW. I could not agree more with Mr. Cannon and I would be surprised if you did not.
Kind regards, Bugwrench
