I was making a painting of this car but want to know if anybody remembers ever seeing a picture of the car with the front fender skirts/spats on before it came to America? I have seen a picture of it in Holland without the front skirts where it looks very much more pedestrian. I have looked at the Shah's wedding pictures and can't see the car in any of the pictures so I am hoping someone has seen it so equipped. I know they were copying the Figoni et Falashi Type 165 Delahaye which had fully skirted wheels all around.
Also has it ever been printed what F & F throught of their Delahaye design being pirated by Vanvooren? Of when the French government calls you and says they need you to do something do you say "Yessir, yessir, three bags full!"

The car lives at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles; they have historical images of the car similar to those you mention. Write the Assistant Curator, Mary Brisson, at mbrisson@petersen.org.
