They did a nice job. On a similar subject, I have a 1/32 Matchbox kit of the T59. It has a separate part for the tail section, and I can't find reference for the Bugatti that had this. Does anyone know a chassis numbr?

Can I see tooth between the rim and the center part ? Same tooth like the hub has , just bigger ?

The idea seems to have been to take the driving load off the spokes and transfer it directly from the drum to the wheelrim.I would imagine that it worked well enough.Every T59 still uses this system and I have never heard of anyone fitting different wheels because of a problem. They could apparently develop slight wear between the drums and the rims and "click "on takeoff but this happens with ordinary wirewheels and hubs as well.

fascinating design..is there a photo of the hub and rim separate ?
with such surface area I would think a "click" would take longer to wear in compared with standard wire or alloy wheel acting on steel splines direct in the smaller hub....
