What would be very useful would be a pictorial database showing components which are definitely original Molsheim alongside equivalent Pur Sang, Brineton, Dutton, C&G components. |

Hi, That is exactly what The Bugatti Trust and myself are creating for the Type 35. All the parts have been modelled and the layout for the parts book looks good. The work in adding the correct finish and information for each part will begin shortly - even for 1 car, it is a mammouth task. The work will cover the design, finish, a reference to the original Bugatti plan and detailed references to the sources of information that have been used when deciding the most likely record for how a part should be - and a lot more. It may well be - in fact I think this is 100% probable - that someone will come along and present a case that proves we are wrong in saying X part should be like Y. If the case has merit, it can be added to the record for that part and inaccurate information deleted or amended. Kind Regards SB |

It's a shame the Trust didn't let the world know - a friend and myself have put a lot of time into photgraphing all the original components on a type 22, a type 37 and a type 35C. Perhaps the Trust could publish an up to date list of the proects being undertaken. |

Hi, The reason it has not been publicised as yet – it is being launched in April – is that essentially myself and Richard Day (TBT Curator) along with the charisma of Hugh Conway having been creating the project in between our normal day to day lives. At the outset, I anticipated it would take 6 months. In the end, it has taken almost 2 ½ years! The work load was massive. Therefore, we did not want to publicise something that might not have happened if any of our circumstances changed. Regarding your work – it seems fantastic and hearing about it is where specialist forums like this really score. You must have a massive amount of photos if you only took one photo of each part. How long has it taken you? How did you sort the wheat from the chaff of incorrect parts? Regarding what projects are going on at TBT, I don’t know but will ask. To be honest my specialist subject is the Type 35, when I go to the Trust this is what we talk about, but I have not heard about anything else going on. But then why should I? Kind Regards SB |
