I cannot believe I am about to write this : Whitney Paine a.k.a. Stuart, has just offered me his spare copy of Grand Prix Bugatti gratis!!!! And not just any spare copy, but the actual one he used as reference for his T35 project. I am about to get a masterpiece of literature with a patina of use and a continuous history! Gratis! Oh please let me just write that word again : Gratis. I tell you, if I knew this was going to happen, I would have picked a fight with the Bugatti Trust a long time ago! I'm actually a little lost for words. I am not really used to such incredible generosity. Thank you Stuart, I assure you this book will be loved and used and enjoyed till either my eyesight fails or I go senile; then I shall pass them all on to someone of the next generation - gratis, of course. I tell you, Martijn is going to be so relieved, at least now he is assured of being paid as I promised. Speaking of Martijn has any-one seen the great man lately - he has not replied to my e-mails in, like, days. Can anyone remember, did I insult him too? Anyway, Jeroen, now that Grand Prix is on the way to South Africa, gratis (and once more, with feeling - gratis) what do you suggest I get next? I swear there is just no hope for me. At least I get to keep my kidneys - thanks for that too Stuart, my other organs are most relieved. Now I can go and tell my books that soon they shall have a new brother. They are going to be so thrilled! Spread the word : Johan has left the forum. |

Dear Johan, No worries.. I am still here.. But to many things to do at the moment (Like arranging the type 43 book for you).. but you have received an E-mail. Congratulations with your “Grand prix” book. And Stuart’s generous offer. As you can see you receive a lot support from all around the world..
