I just discovered this story in Classic & Sports Car on the internet. Source: http://www.classicandsportscar.com/news ... ti-type-59 I am researching King Leopold's accident in a Pininfarina built Cadillac so anything with his name attached is interesting to me. The article in C & SC implies the car was given by Bugatti to Leopold, like to know if that's still the opinion. Also it says "in 1967, car-mad Belgian enthusiast Stephane Falise" found out about the car and bought it from the Royal Palace and that, years later, the Princess tried to find the car to get it back (she apparently has a bad reputation for selling the tiara Queen Elizabeth gave to her). Anyhow, looking for a barn find Bugatti to write about and if the price was a bargain when Falise called at the palace,I'd like to hear about it.. |
