4802
One of three factory type 39As. Order no. 200 and 1,500cc engine no. 76. First registered as 2545 J 4 on 8th July, 1926 in the name of Ettore Bugatti Automobiles Molsheim. Driven by Costantini in the European Grand Prix at Mirimas on 27th June, 1926 (no. 8) finishing second having covered fifteen laps despite requiring a push-start after a pit-stop. Sold through the Paris depot in January 1927. Hugh Conway (in 1968) stated the car had appeared at Indianapolis in 1928. In his 1983 edition of “Grand Prix Bugatti” the car’s owner was (incorrectly ?) given as Rouhaud, Paris (France). It was still supercharged. In the British Bugatti Register published in 1974 the owner was shown as M. Nicolosi of Avallon, France. In Summer 1996 the car was noted in the ownership of John Kendal in Boston, Massachusetts. In 2004 the car was still in the USA. Recent photographs of the car show it painted pale blue, fitted with alloy wheels and headlamps and in immaculate condition.

Any more information welcome.

That was the GP de l'ACF.
The European GP was on 18 July 1927 at San Sebastian, Spain, where #4802 was also driven by Meo Costantini (r/n 2, 3rd place).

#4802 was based on #4763, a T35T.
