| Post subject: | Location engine number Type 57 on cast iron cylinder block? |
Is it correct, that underneath the cast iron cylinder block of a Type 57 the engine number is located in the middle of the eight outlets (between fourth and fifth)? On my block, I find three different numbers at the place described above. One with three letters, below another with one, and one with two letters. Thanks for your input! |

for example 110 2 38 I think this are casting numbers and not engine numbers |

my numbers are: 410 2 36 I think the first number could be the motor number; the second maybe the series number; the third could be a casting or production number. Thanks for your information! |

I am not so sure about the engine number . I think the last number is the year , like 1936 and 1938 . No idea about the number in the middle . I have more blocks , I will look . |
