The picture of a type 40 at Le Mans looks like a picture of a GP ?

Type 40? Why?

It has all aspects of a GP car. The spare wheel looks like a wire wheel, but that doesn't say much.

Le Mans 1931. Entrant : J. Sebilleau. Drivers: Jean Sebilleau/Georges Delaroche. DNF 96th lap clutch problems.
Car: 4 cylinder, 1496cc and listed as a T40 but this is a mistake as an other picture also clearly shows a T37.
