Good afternoon gents (and ladies?)

Hope you are all well. Just looking for a bit of expert info on some body panels that have come my way, which i am 80% certain are off a Bugatti.

I have a feeling they are from a Galibier-bodied Type 57, from what I know of the cars, and some reference to "Pur Sang"...

They are aluminium, or at least feel like it.

I have what appears to be all the bonnets panels, including louvered side bonnet panels, two rear wings, a bulkhead and two unknown panels, which going off the shape, may be some inner bonnet panels, though I'm sure one of the sages here will know for sure.

All information gratefully received. These will ultimately be up for sale, so without wishing to be crass, an idea of market value would be helpful, though doesn't need to be the primary piece of info just yet...

Many thanks, fellow "Bug-gers"

I am not so sure about Bugatti . The fire wall looks not Bugatti like to me .

Hello!
Nice discovery!
I'm not expert in 57, but the fire-wall comes evidently from a 57, and the bonnet's elements too. The 2 others elements seems to be the 2 "bavolets" (in french) where bonnet's panels are locked, the opposites panels on right and left have the same curved edge.
I think the wings are for a 57, with the typical rear curved design you can find on Atalante, Atlantic, or others models, and maybe some Galibier .
The allow fire-wall seems old, but the bonnet's elements seem to have never been assembled. Perhaps they are a more recent making?
No idea about the value...
Best regards, E. LAPORTE.

Vielen Dank Udo...

et merci pour votre information, Eric.

Maybe they are Type 57 then, as you seem to agree Eric. The rear wings have signs of being assembled at some point, and obviously the firewall/bulkhead has been used, and shows more signs of age and wear-and-tear.

The bonnet panels and the bavolets seem unused, or at least unassembled, though have holes drilled in for the rivets etc.

My dad used to have an Atalante, which makes me think they maybe are from that model, but looking at photos from various sources, they could also be Galibier, as they follow a similar curve. The bonnet louvres are slatted horizontally (as opposed to vertically) which I have only seen on the Galibier cars in the photos I have checked, so maybe a mixed batch?

Interesting stuff... Maybe I will also try the BUgatti Regsiter, see if anyone knows anything there.

Dear Buggerlugs:

Your pieces are definitely T57 in origin. I wondered if you could examine the back of the rounded corner of the louvered side panels...frequently, the original engine number of the car is stamped in this location. If from an Atalante, the Atalante body number (1-32) might also be stamped.

Please take a look and let me know!

Thanks,

Sandy

Hello Udo!

It seems to me that your picture show the fire-wall of a 57S.
But for Buggerlugs, it's only a normal type 57... so perhap's a "Galibier"

Best regards, Eric.

Hello, Udo

I've just discovered that after Buggerlugs' message... by watching my archive to give him an answer! We learn something every day on this forum! No?

Thank you for your input and help, gentlemen,

I will have a look for some numbers on the rear wing when I am next at the lock up, and get back to you, Copperkettle.

Thanks for all the assistance.

Buggerlugs

Hello, Mr Buggerlug's!

You'll be a little disappointed, if you try to find numbers stamped in one of your rear wings!
Mr Copperkettle told you to look for these numbers on the internal side of the louvered
panel of the bonnet, near the curved edge (I think on the left side, near the firewall).
But you can also have a look anywhere around...
Good luck!
E.L.
