I am always surprised about the mistakes people write in the internet about the Type 3 , 4 and 5 . It looks like nobody really has any info .In the Bugatti register for example the Type 5 has a 4 speed gearbox . But in real it is a 3 speed gearbox .

at Udolahr :
Sometimes bugattiregister.com draw its information on contradictory sources different registers. If you have information precise and checked which would require corrections, you can bring them yourself on bugattiregister.com or me to forward them so that I can bring these precise details (bugatti69@bbox.fr)

The type 5 has a 3 speed gearbox , and not a 4 speed . And it is not a more modern car compare to a Type 4 . The engine is the same like a Type 4 , just bigger . Steering , brakes , wheels and more are from the Type 4 .

It is nice to indicate that there are errors, but which ones? Waht are the correct specifications, so that errors in future can be avoided!

I believe nobody really cares about it . For example , who cares if in the book the Type 5 has a fuel pump , but in real there is no fuel pump at all .

Udo that is an odd statement from someone who is always asking for knowledge. the idea of a forum and the wiki is to share and grow the knowledge pool among people who are interested.

that's why we are here

It looks to me , that I am the only one asking technical questions . The rest is busy with chassis numbers .

Hello,

So, just for Udo, who thank he was alone on technical questions.
My 44 (I didn't say chassis N°44784 !) is a little tired.
I drive it about 28 years and my old original clutch is dead.
My eight cast-iron disks are used, and I can't find any other in France!
Who can help me?

Thanks
Eric.

Realy, Udo?

My old clutch is still a wet one, and I think it would be better to transform it in a dry system, with only 4 steel disks covered by "Ferrodo" and 5 cast-iron disks (1 of 10mm thick for compression, and 4 of 3mm thick)
No problem for the 4 steel disks and the "Ferrodo" on them, I have that.
But the 5 others must be cut out in cast-iron with 171mm for external diameter and 76mm for the middle hole diameter (and 6 others holes of 10mm diameter on the edges, that I'd try to pierce myself).
How could you help me, Udo.
I think that I'd cut out myself these 5 disks, but I need 2 sheets of cast-iron, one of 10mm thick and the other of 3mm thick.
Do you have something like that near you??
Excuse my very old English... Dusty a little as my old Bug.
If you please, you can answer by MP.
Thanks, Eric.
