The de Ram damper used a metallic multi-plate disk stack, with alternate disks splined to either an inside or outside cylindrical carrier, much as for multi-plate clutches of the time.
Owing to the weight of the casing, de Ram dampers were always mounted to the chassis, with a single arm to the axle.

The 57S has different de Rams compare to the late 57S like the Lauren Atlantic . Or is maybe only the de Ram housing different ? What about the story that the front axle de Rams are different compared to the back axle ? How is the availability , are they easy to get . It looks to me they are difficult and almost impossible to get . And nobody has any real 57S de Ram info . Is there a de Ram workshop manual ?

This pictures show a 57S front axle de Ram , will not fit a late 57S like the Lauren car . Do we have a Forum member who owns a de Ram ?

The Motordport Magazin has some interesting info . But it looks like there is not more knowlige in the Forum about the De Rams . And nobody has one . I am especially looking for info about the very late 57S De Ram , like the Lauren Atlantic .
I discovered , that Bugatti made his own De Rams with parts from the De Ram company . Again , he wanted something , nobody else had . And I am sure he was the only one with this kind of design .If anybody has some interest , I can show a little about this De Rams . How much I have found out till now.

Bugantics Vol.21 No3 page 13-21.
very interesting article about de Rham shocks for 57s.
Written by an Englishman engineer so probably not worth the paper its written on...
I would copy and upload it, but I simply can't be arsed.

All the reading about de Ram does not really help . Best to take one apart and study the inside parts .
Uwe , do you anderstand the table you posted ?
