I just bought/recieved the fabulous new book on BNC automobiles by Gilles Fornier (yes I like those cars too  This book is very recommended !!!).http://amicale.bnc.free.fr/livre-BNC.htm

On page 334, there is a picture of Jean Lobre in his T37, license 7247-PF? (issued 1935).
According to the tekst he bought this car in 1935 as a successor to his BNC 527.

In the Bugattiregister, neither on this license nor on his name I can find which t37 he owned. So who knows more ?

Do you have a photo? Perhaps this might help as I don't have the book

I am not in the habit of copying photo's without asking: I will ask mr. Fournier.

from: http://www.kolumbus.fi/leif.snellman/dl.htm:
Jean Lobre (F)
BNC voiturette driver from 1928 to 1931, then raced a Bugatti.
1930: DNF Lyon (BNC 527 1100cc)
1931: DNA Marne GP (Voiturette Bugatti 37A) / DNF Dauphiné Circuit (Bugatti)
1932: DNA Comminges GP (Bugatti 35C 2000cc)

additonal data from Mike Hawke's "small car racing and record breaking" and the Sheldon/Rabagliati books.
1928: 1st place Coupe de Bourgogne (BNC)
1929: 1st place GP de Bourgogne (BNC)
1929: 2nd place GP de Lyon (BNC)
1931: DNF circuit de Dauphine (BNC)
1932: DNF Trophee de Provence (BNC)
1932: DNF GP de Picardie (BNC)

the data of at least one event looks contradictory, but apparently he drove both classes consecutive in one day: the Bugatti in the GP, the BNC in the 1100cc class

These dates possibly contradict the text with the photo in the BNC-book...

Jean Lobre was born May 22, 1892 and died May 2, 1964.

I think the license may be 7247-PF6.

Edit: permission granted from mr. Fournier (merci beaucoup):

So did he borrow the T37 and T35 and bought one later ?
The startnumber on the car (23/29?) does not correspond with the startnumbers given for his Bugatti races listed above.

Michael can you identify the cars involved ?

I have edited both previous posts to update this question.
"Bugatti, a racing history" by the late David Venables does not contain any info for Lobre.
Let us see if we can get some results :-)
