Never buy a small lathe ! I don't know how others face a T57 crankcase , or they just don't do it .

Hi Udo,

I don,t know what you are doing with the crankcase and the lath. In my opinoin, a lath is not the tool to get the crankcase splitlane to the gearbox in line with the crankshaft centerbore.
There are better machines to do the job, or there was a out of allignment previous job that has to be covered.

Regards,
Jean B

must be slow RPM or else you will have serious balancing problems ?

up to 40 RPM no problem , over 40 with counterweights . But for machining the face 30 to 40 is OK .
