Post subject:  Bugatti Type 57s barnfind?

I'm intrigued by the pictures that Uwe has posted this morning of what appears to be a wrecked type 57s. Apart from the Black Atlantic, there are only two others of this type unaccounted for- both being Atalante's, which disappeared before WW2. One was known to have crashed, killing the driver and the other simply vanished in France After hunting down the owner of the photographs, it would seem that the elderly French owner scrapped it quite soon after the shot was taken and moved into a care home. Shame as it would have been one of the most valuable Bugatti's possible.

Greg, many, many years ago, I read about a secret french collection, mostly of Amilcar cars. The owner started the collection in the 5o`s, but he scrapped all Bugattis, which came into his hands, for their "fussy" technic, and concentrated more on Amilcar, which he thought to be much better to maintain and drive......
