Hello,

My father had a Bugatti, a Type 37, 4 cylinder, but with a strange body. The front was T37, the rear more like a T43.
The brakes also were from a later model. This car had its forst registration in 1933, but construction of the T37 stopped in 1929, I believe.

I do not have any photos now, I should be able to find some later.

My father bought this car in 1959, and sold it in 1983, to a well known car and oldtimer salesman in Brussels.

I was 18 year old in 1983, and I helped my father getting the car to run again, before it left...
It had not run in 20 years. We refilled the water, pressurised the fuel tank, checked the magneto, turned the start handle, and WROOOOOEEAAAAAMMM!!!!!!!! it said.

Who knows anything about this car?

I think we need a bit more info, preferably some photo's, registration number, a name maybe?

At least the Bugatti quality is obvious, again: Starting easily after 20 years rest. Who said Bugattis were difficult cars?

I agree with Jaap; the information now is too sketchy. And the fact that it starts after 20 years of hibernation also does not let it step out of the Bugatti crowd. I am looking forward to the pictures he claims to have. A well known Brussels trader could be de Dobbeleer but 1983 seems to be too late for that. More likely Paul Grant at Vanderveken.

If he has a license plate and a picture Maybe we can do something.

Kees
