Is there more known about this replica Atlantic owned by Jay Leno…. It has a Bugatti Engine in it, so most probably is based on an original type 57

Builder (Koux) ?
Chassis number ?

Leno's Atlantic was made by Crailville, not by Eric Koux.

I do not know about the originality of the chassis / engine.

The Atlantic replica of Jay Leno was "originally" a very early replica Atlantic built by Erik Koux, but had it's "Original" fiberglass bodywork remowed and replaced by the aluminium body made by Crailville as Jaap mentioned!
The lines of this car is an exact replica of the Koux bodywork that used to sit on this car, so I guess that will make the car a replica of a Replica Atlantic..... :) But she sure is a beauty!

Best regards

Carsten

Here another picture from the internet of Jay Leno's "Replica-replica"which clearly shows the wrong shape in the lower lines of the front fenders, as well as wrong headlights.....

Thanks Carsten, for this great picture!

For those of you who like numbers: This car was assembled from a number of original Molsheim parts.

The chassis is replica, made by Jack Hensor

The body is now a Crailville replica as stated by Jaap (thanks, Jaap) And I love the saying: replica of a Koux replica (thanks, Carsten)

The engine is # C 110, believed to be the very last engine built, and never put in a car; however the lower crankcase is replica.

The gearbox is # 398 ex 57555; that chassis incidentally has now a replica body made by Jean Marie Bats in Brussels as a copy of 57385, the 1936 Salon de l'Automobile car. Chassis 57555 got the engine and gearbox of 57229.

The rear axle # 410 came from 57564, a Gangloff cabriolet which has been demolished.

Are you still with me?

57385 is mentioned and shown elsewhere on the forum.

The Leno Atlantic has obtained a chassisnumber by the BOC: it is BC 079.

Seeing this Atlantic, and the others on this forum:

How many fake Atlantic`s have now been made? Eric Koux must have made about 6, plus this Craiville, how many more? About 10?

There are about 13 in the Wiki, but a few of them are bad quality, some maybe not even on Bugatti chassis, like:
57 Atlantic-696 H 4915
57 Atlantic-BUGATTI-USA

Eric Koux of course also build the roadster replica, from the Wiki I take about 8 other T57S replica's. Anybody knows an exact number?

All in all; there are now more T57S's then ever produced by the factory, some late success for this design!

hello
eric koux is not only known for his atlanic replicas, he also
made one T55 and the million-guiet coupe on a T37.
I like his work, for he always tries to put as much original parts in them as available
