Sometimes I find some info or hints towards record cars, powered by Bugatti machinery. Were these cars actually made, or were they just ideas on paper, or even less...

For instance, this 1:43 model of a record car:

There are 3 known sketches for record cars, two sketches of a T41 engined record car, using T46 components (In Kestler's book on the Royale) , the other one a record car using 3 T50B engines (This one is probably of a later date).

None of these cars were ever built though.

It would be nice building a T41 engine in a T46 chassis, with a streamlined body. Adding two compressors would probably give a power of 500HP or more.

There are rumours about a project using 2 T41 engines in one chassis. Apparently Uwe Hucke was working on this, but later sold the project to the States, never to be heard of again. I do not know of any drawing or sketch on which this project would have been based.

And: Of course Bugatti held several speed records for production cars. Even the EB110 and Veyron held / hold speed records.

I know about certain speed records for Bugatti products (T57G, Rail Cars, EB110, Veyron) but these record cars sometines "pop up" with a less solid base. Like the one pictured above...

On what did Hennie van den Oever base this model? Who was he anyway (he also made the Bugatti wood truck, which I am told, was based upon a picture in a book. Never seen it though...)
