 Post subject: What exactly IS a Type 73 ?

:lol: I really am fed up with lazy people who don't take the trouble to get their facts right about postwar Bugattis . I recently read a description of a T 73 c [ actually 002 ] where the author suggested that people could decide for themselves whether to call it a T 73 or a T73 c. How utterly stupid. Here for the edification of those who don't actually know the difference are the Bugatti chassis drawings of both models. Anyone unable to see the many differences is missing a few brain cells.The top drawing is of course the T 73 c . The bottom two drawings are the T 73 .

I have not yet really read through this book. It seems very good although a quick glance just now did show up a couple of glaring mistakes.The T251 has twin sparkplugs per cylinder and indeed it was intended to use half of this engine as a sports car engine for the T 252. There is absolutely no connection between the T 73 engine and the T 102. There has never really been any interest from Bugatti people for the postwar cars. Uwe and I are about the only people to have a genuine interest.I will be very interested to see his T 102 when Jens gets it going.I dare say that my own book when and if it ever gets published will have mistakes as well.

And the Colombo designed type 125? What engine should that have had?

I would really support you in writing a book on the post war Bugattis. Lots of interesting stuff, and largely unknown. Only a few books have real information. I'd really like to have a look through all of the drawings you have, for example.

And: I know that there is much more of the post war history, information in private collections.

I suspect that the T251 engine would have found its way into a Muira type Bugatti had circumstances been better for Bugatti.
