Read nice article in Octane no 65 nov 2008 about cross linked interest between Ettore Bugatti and Henry Royce. First line " Ettore Bugatti and Henry Royce had great mutual respect for each other's motor cars - so when Ettore decided he needed more experience with "heavy cars, what else would he buy but a Rolls - Royce Silver Ghost.This was in 1926. That car remained in the family until 1963 when the car was sold to Maurice Trintignant. Knowing this, are there more cross overs. |

On p.58 of Conway's Magnum is a photo of what appears to be a T15 with the following caption : "Sir Henry Royce owned this little 8 valve car in England during the 1914-18 War." (chassis number not mentioned) In his 1913 letter to Dr. Espanet, Ettore measured his dream of building a super-luxury car against the Rolls Royce (Silver Ghost), but I was unaware that he actually owned one.
