Well, there are many more manufacturers that manage to balance on the edge of bankruptcy for a long time. Romano Artioli managed to get quite far, without paying his bills for years (though he doesn't belong in the list).

One story comes to mind, after David Brown, who had become rich building tractors, bought Aston Martin, a friend of his visited the factory, where the DB models were being built. This friend said to David; "Very nice car, this one, but I find the 3500 pounds (example only!) a bit expensive. Can't you sell it to your friend at what it costs you to produce the car? And David replies: OK, no problem, that would be 4500 pounds then!

How about Granville Bradshaw?

Seems very varied in his fields of work, sometimes successfull, sometimes not!

Jean Daninos ,Boss of Facel Vega managed to lose money on each and every car [even the V8s] over a ten year period.Very French that ! :D :!:
