Bugatti planning Grand Sport Sang Noir?

Only 300 Bugatti Veyrons will be made, and already a fair portion of that allotment have been built as limited edition specials, including the Pegaso, Hermes, Pur Sang, and Sang Noir. The latter, an exposed-carbon fiber special that eschews paint in the interest of weight and raw appeal, may be getting another version, based around the topless Veyron Grand Sport, according to the latest reports.

While such a car may seem counterintuitive in the way that a Ferrari 430 Scuderia Spyder does to the performance-minded, it could make for a stunning piece of automobilia, and a fine contrast to the white Grand Sport revealed at Pebble Beach this year.

The report grows out of the sighting of a customer Sang Noir alongside a model of a topless version of the same at an exclusive customer event, according to CAR. Only 15 of the hyper-exclusive Sang Noirs are to be built in coupe form, but it now appears about that many could be built in Grand Sport roadster form as well.

Bugatti plans a sinister, exposed carbonfibre version of its Grand Sport roadster. CAR Magazine went behind the scenes at an exclusive customer premiere of the €1.4m, 253mph Grand Sport in Cannes, where the Sang Noir carbonfibre special edition was twice represented.

A customer car, identified by its unpainted carbonfibre spine, piano black panels and tangerine interior, was present. Bugatti was clearly using it to tempt customers with a Sang Noir roadster, and it also showed a model of the carbonfibre roadster

Just 15 Sang Noir coupés (the name is French for ‘black blood’) will be made, but expect a similar number of roadsters to follow the 987bhp Grand Sport, which will be available to customers in April 2009.

Seulement 300 Bugatti Veyrons seront faits, et déjà une grande partie de cette attribution a déjà été établie en tant qu’édition limitée spéciale, y compris le Pegaso, l’Hermes, le Pur Sang, et le Sang Noir. Ce dernier, avec une peinture de fibre spéciale de carbone pour un poids léger, peut obtenir une autre version, basée sur le Vevron Grand Sport décapotable, selon les derniers rapports.

Tandis qu’une telle voiture peut sembler contre intuitive de la manière de la Ferrari 430 Scuderia Spyder fait avec la performance, il pourrait être un beau morceau d’automobilia, et un contraste avec le Sport Grand blanc révélé chez Pebble Beach cette année.

Selon CAR, le rapport vise le client du Sang Noir et le modèle décapotable. Seulement 15 des exclusives Sang Noir doivent être construites sous la forme de coupé, mais il apparaît maintenant que beaucoup pourraient aussi être construits sous la forme de grand roadster de sport.

So it's only a 1/18 model !!! On the Car picture, you can see the plexi of the presentation glassbox.

My mind is that Bugatti will make special versions of Grand Sport but not yet. At present, they are selling the "normal" one (note that they are 1 color only, contrary to Veyron Coupé présentation models which were all 2 colors)
Later, to maintain focus on the model (in press), they will perhaps issu special versions...
