What???

Is is really so??? :?:

And what about two other concepts??? :?:

So this means if true that everything is decided and Bugatti is going to produce the Galibier in next years as the only model from Bugatti???

Oh no, the worst way to go.

I am from those who believe till the last moment that there will be some other concepts and Galibier will not be the only model in Bugatti range.

I don't think so

Bugatti 16C Galibier reportedly gets the $1.5 million go-ahead
Image
Few have seen it – even standing still – but a report from the UK's Auto Express is already suggesting that the Bugatti 16C Galibier concept, shown to a select few at the company's factory in Molsheim, is set to receive the green light for production.

The concept for succeeding the two-door, mid-engine Veyron offers a more conventional four-door, front-engine bodystyle with bragging rights that pale only in comparison to its record-breaking forbearer: the 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine would carry over, albeit detuned from its 1000+ hp output in the Veyron to "only" 800, while sources suggest that the Veyron's purpose-built dual-clutch transmission would be replaced with a more conventional torque-converter eight-speed automatic. With less power and a larger shape, the Galibier is tipped to reach a 220 mph top speed – a good thirty less than the Veyron's top end, but still miles ahead of even the fastest production sedans.

Rumor has it that the Bugatti could share the platform from the new Bentley Mulsanne. And while earlier reports indicated that Bugatti would be trying out a number of different concepts before selecting one for production, if this latest report is accurate, the Galibier could hit the market by 2013 with a £900,000 price tag – about $1.5 million, the same price as that Veyron speeding off into the setting sun.

I am still waiting for more concepts. I really doubt that Bugatti already made decision so fast not showing two other concepts.

Secondo me anke se è stralussuosissima è troppo costosa..

7milioni? 8milioni?

Not 1,8 Million Euro..
but less than 1.0 million euros for Motorauthority.com

There are super sedans and then there are super sedans. Bugatti's Galibier 16C Concept is definitely one of the latter, with its 8.0-liter W-16 engine and incredibly opulent interior. The latest reports emerging from within Bugatti's walls are that the car isn't just a concept anymore--it's been green-lighted for production.

No confirmation of the reports has come directly from Bugatti yet, but the Galibier 16C was being shopped as a potential production car, depending on the reaction it got from the potential client base. After just a few public showings, the car's unique feature set appears to have done the job.

Featuring four seats inside its leather and wood cocoon, the Galibier 16C isn't the thoroughbred speed demon the Veyron is. Instead of a twin-clutch gearbox, the Galibier gets a refined eight-speed automatic. Instead of 1,000 horsepower from a quad-turbocharged W-16 engine, it gets a "mere" 800 horsepower from a two-stage supercharging system.

But there's also a high-tech element at work, with polished aluminum and carbon fiber bodywork, all the top electronic driving aids and an advanced active suspension system.

A marriage of classical and modern technology comes in the form of a custom Swiss clock, called the Reverso Tourbillon, by Parmigiani, which serves as the car's interior clock and can also be removed and worn on the wrist on a custom-designed leather strap.

The Galibier 16C is expected to cost about $1.45 million if it does go to production. Cars could start rolling out of the factory--at a relaxed, highly individualized pace, of course--by early 2010.

I really like those rumors

Now we have information that Galibier will go into production early next year, even before Geneva auto show

That only shows that we can not use such sources to get credible and true information.

I guess we need to wait for two other concepts next spring and for official press release from Bugatti.

Of course there could be scenario that customers are so in love with Galibier that order lists are full and customers want the car asap forcing Bugatti to make it before production of Veyron will be finished.

In such case I guess we will se other concepts of some supercars to replace Veyron independently from production of Galibier 16C.

As I said in other thread it is only rumors, but honestly speaking I do not love this car and do not see a logical point of making it, so these are not especially sad news for me. I would like to see two other concepts finally. I am waiting for a pure supercar to replace Veyron and to amaze all of us with its performance. I think we can expect concepts of front-engined supercar and a successor to the Veyron.
