In three years, twenty seven prototypes were constructed: five of the first series (chassis n° 1.1 to 1.5, in 2002), eight of the second series (chassis n° 2.1 to 2.8, in 2003), five of the third series (chassis n° 3.1 to 3.5, in 2004, two last being intended for the crash-tests), four of the fourth series, the "pre-production" or PVS (chassis n° 4.1 to 4.4, between February and May 2005) and finally five of the fifth series, called "series 0" (chassis n° 5.1 to 5.5, between May and July 2005).

Some places and dates :

- Carmel Valley, August 15, 2002: A prototype of Veyron (chassis # 1.4) is revealed at a deprived meeting with Stonepine.

- Carmel Valley, August 15, 2003: At 21 hours precise, Karl-Heinz Neumann raises the veil on Bugatti EB 16-4 Veyron (chassis # 2.2), in the presence of old owners of Bugatti... and some potential buyers of new the modéle.

- Laguna Seca, August 16, 2003: Same Veyron (chassis # 2.2) carries out its first turns of wheels as a public playing the role of pace car in a historical race joining together several tens of Bugatti of Grand Prix.

The n° 001 was delivered to a French living in the USA and the n° 007 with the woman of Ferdinand Piech... Ursula Piech. I do not know for the moment, the choice of the colours for these two models.

Probably the same car??

I think so, yes. Telegraaf mentioned the car already had run 16.000 km (so should at least have been running for 40 hrs: 16.000 / 400 = 40...)

Probably a show or demo car. I could use a demo...

I was told that the pink color is just a sticker.
