Monterey, 15 août 2008. La « Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès » dévoilée en mars 2008 au Salon automobile
de Genève sera présentée vendredi 15 Août au « Quail Motorsport Gathering » dans la péninsule de Monterey.
Chaque été, « The Quail » est le moment privilégié de 10 intenses journées de manifestations au cours
desquelles les amoureux de l’automobile se retrouvent à Monterey pour célébrer l’excellence dans le design
et l’ingéniérie automobile.
Cette version exceptionnelle de la « Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès » a été lancée à Genève en coloris ébène
et étoupe et ébène et brique. Afin d’offrir un plus large choix de coloris, Hermès et Bugatti ont développé
4 nouvelles associations de couleurs dans le respect de l’héritage et des valeurs des deux maisons. Ainsi, la
« Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès » est aujourd’hui disponible dans 4 versions exclusives : « bleu indigo et
vermillon », « bleu indigo et vert anis », « noir et rouge garance » et « bleu Prusse et bleu jean ».
La « Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès » associe les performances techniques de Bugatti aux savoir-faire de la
maison Hermès et de ses artisans. En mariant le style Hermès à ce joyau automobile qu’est la Bugatti
Veyron 16.4, le designer Gabriele Pezzini, partenaire d’Hermès, a contribué ainsi à magnifier sa personnalité.
Cette automobile rassemble d’exceptionnelles particularités. L’alliance novatrice d’un moteur de haute
technicité, fort de ses 1 001 chevaux, et d’une ligne qui, sans être ostentatoire, n’accepte aucun compromis et
témoigne non seulement des très hautes performances que l’ingénierie moderne est capable d’atteindre,
mais aussi et surtout du plaisir que tout propriétaire de Bugatti prend à les apprécier.
La fascination qui se dégage de ce coupé sport capable d’atteindre 407 km/h s’explique notamment par
l’alliance unique entre une technologie dans la plus pure tradition de compétition et une conduite aisée
au quotidien. Un moteur de 16 cylindres en W, animé par quatre turbocompresseurs et doté de 64 soupapes,
fournit 1 001 chevaux à 6 000 tours/minute. Il puise dans ses 8 litres de cylindrée un couple maximal de
1 250 newtons-mètre, disponible entre 2 200 et 5 500 tours/minute. Grâce à une transmission intégrale
permanente, sa puissance phénoménale permet un comportement dynamique à couper le souffle, autorisant
une accélération de 0 à 100 km/h en 2,5 secondes seulement. Dotée des acquis technologiques issus de
l’aéronautique et de l’aérospatiale, la Bugatti Veyron 16.4, l’automobile de série la plus rapide de tous les
temps, bénéficie d’un système de freinage dont les capacités de décélération inouïes établissent de nouvelles
références. Il comprend des freins à disque en fibre de carbone capables de fournir une pression de freinage
allant jusqu’à 180 bars, des étriers monoblocs à huit pistons, ainsi que des pistons en titane dotés de têtes en
acier fin et de protections thermiques en céramique. Lors de freinages effectués à des vitesses supérieures
à 200 km/h, l’aileron arrière joue le rôle d’aérofrein et améliore encore l’efficacité du freinage. Celui-ci
vient en effet se positionner en moins de 0,4 seconde à un angle de 113 degrés. La portance négative sur la
poupe s’accroît aussitôt pour atteindre les 300 kg, augmentant le couple de freinage sur l’essieu arrière. Ainsi,
lors d’un freinage d’urgence à une vitesse de 400 km/h, moins de 10 secondes s’écoulent jusqu’à l’arrêt complet
du bolide. Pourtant, bien que cette automobile la plus fascinante au monde repousse les limites de la
physique pour offrir à son pilote et au passager qui l’accompagne des sensations de conduite complètement
inédites, elle se différencie radicalement du parti pris adopté par d’autres voitures de sport : son équipement
et sa finition impressionnent les clients les plus exigeants.
Hermès et le designer Gabriele Pezzini ont porté toute leur attention au design intérieur et extérieur de
cette voiture exceptionnelle pour donner naissance à la nouvelle Bugatti Veyron 16.4 : la « Bugatti Veyron
Fbg par Hermès ».

HARMONIE DU DESIGN EXTÉRIEUR ET INTÉRIEUR
La dénomination de la très exclusive Bugatti Veyron « Fbg par Hermès », fait référence à l’implantation
historique d’Hermès dans la rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, au coeur du VIIIe arrondissement de Paris.
« Fbg » renvoyant à « faubourg ».
Avec la « Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès », les exigences d’Émile Hermès et Ettore Bugatti se rejoignent
pour la première fois dans une collaboration exceptionnelle, aboutissement d’une exigence extrême, tant
esthétique que technologique.
Gabriele Pezzini reprend la présentation bicolore traditionnelle de la carrosserie Bugatti, fluidifiant les frontières
entre design extérieur et intérieur, pour un résultat particulièrement harmonieux. Ainsi, la couleur du capot
se prolonge à l’intérieur de l’habitacle, puis ressurgit au niveau de l’aileron arrière.
En hommage à la fameuse Bugatti type 35 de 1924, sans doute la plus connue de tous les temps pour ses
nombreux succès sur piste, la nouvelle « Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès » s’habille de jantes à huit branches
en aluminium poli dotées d’écrous centraux à papillon signés d’un H, les ouvertures de ventilation
pratiquées le long des bords de jante reproduisant la forme caractéristique des coutures Hermès. L’habillage
de la calandre en fer à cheval et les grilles d’aération latérales qui la bordent sont réalisés en alliage léger et
symbolisent la signature Hermès par un maillage infini de H.

UN LANGAGE FORMEL ÉPURÉ
Les surfaces intérieures de la « Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès » ont été conçues et gainées de cuir de
taurillon par les ateliers Hermès à Paris. Le soin apporté au détail observe un langage formel très strictement
épuré, qui s’inscrit autant dans la tradition des premières Bugatti que dans les principes de conception
d’Hermès. Ainsi, les poignées de portière rappellent la forme fluide des poignées de cuir des bagages Hermès.
Et la finition de la console centrale, habituellement réalisée en aluminium brossé, est ici exclusivement
gainée de taurillon. Les passagers de la « Bugatti Veyron Fbg » par Hermès trouveront dans la console un
vide-poches destiné à accueillir de petits accessoires de voyage et un agenda zippé Hermès. Les deux sièges
sont revêtus de taurillon bicolore et la cloison de séparation avec le moteur central arrière, réalisée
habituellement en fibre de carbone, est gainée de ce même cuir. Également tendu de cuir de taurillon,
le coffre à bagages accueille une valise en Toile H et cuir spécialement adaptée et réalisée par les artisans
de la maison parisienne.
Ce modèle exceptionnel, disponible à la fin de l’année 2008, sera vendu 1,55 million d’euros hors taxes.

NEW COLOUR COMBINATIONS FOR THE “BUGATTI VEYRON FBG PAR HERMÈS”

Monterey, 15th August 2008. The “Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès”, revealed to the public at the Geneva
Motor Show in March this year, will be presented on Friday, 15th August at “The Quail, a Motorsport
Gathering” on the Monterey Peninsula. This show has become the highlight in what is a whirlwind of ten
days of events every August, when car enthusiasts from around the world gather in Monterey to celebrate
the ultimate in automotive design and engineering.
This unique version of the “Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès” was first launched in Geneva in complimentary
tones of ebony and étoupe and ebony and brick. In order to give the customer a wider range of options
Hermès and Bugatti have developped four new colours schemes in line with the heritage and the values
of the two houses. Therefore, the “Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès” is now also available in these exclusive
combinations : “indigo blue and vermilion”, “indigo blue and lime green”, “ black and garance red” and
“Prussian blue and blue jean”.
The «Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès” associates Bugatti’s technical performance with the expertise of Hermès
and its craftsmen. In partnership with Hermès, designer Gabriele Pezzini has married the distinctive Hermès
style to the legendary Bugatti Veyron 16.4, magnifying the car’s personality.
This remarkable car features an array of exceptional characteristics: the innovative alliance of a technologically
advanced engine, delivering 1001 horsepower, with an understated yet uncompromising silhouette reflecting
the high performance capacities of state-of-the-art engineering and design, and above all, the pleasure these
inspire in every Bugatti owner.
The fascination exerted by this sports coupé, capable of reaching 407 km/h, is due in large part to its unique
alliance of the very finest motor-racing technology with comfortable handling for everyday driving.
The 16-cylinder “W” configuration engine is fed by four turbochargers and features 64 valves, generating
1001 horsepower at 6000 rpm. The engine draws on its 8-litre displacement to deliver a maximum torque
of 1250 Newton-metres between 2200 and 5500 rpm. With full-time all-wheel drive, the car’s phenomenal
power produces breath-takingly dynamic handling, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 2.5
seconds. The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 benefits from aeronautical and aerospace technologies, making it the
fastest production car ever made. The car also features a braking system designed to deliver unprecedented
powers of deceleration, establishing a new industry benchmark. The carbon-fibre discs provide brake pressure
of up to 180 bars, combined with eight-piston monobloc callipers and titanium pistons fitted with fine steel
heads and ceramic heat protectors. Apply the brakes at speeds above 200 km/h, and the rear wing acts as an
airbrake, positioning itself at an angle of 113 degrees in less than 0.4 seconds, augmenting the Bugatti Veyron’s
already impressive stopping power. The airbrake increases negative lift at the rear of the car to 300 kg,
enhancing the braking torque on the rear axle. At 400 km/h, emergency braking will bring the sports car to
a complete halt in less than 10 seconds.
This, the world’s most fascinating car, has pushed back the limits of physical engineering to offer a completely
new sensation for driver and passenger alike. But it has also adopted a radically different stance to that of
other sports cars: its features and finish are sure to impress the most demanding clientele. Hermès and designer
Gabriele Pezzini have lavished attention on the interior and exterior of this exceptional car, to create the
new Bugatti Veyron 16.4: the “Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès”.

A HARMONIOUS DESIGN, INSIDE AND OUT
The official name of the highly exclusive Bugatti Veyron “Fbg par Hermès” refers to the historic Hermès
headquarters on the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, in the heart of Paris’s eight arrondissement: the “Fbg”
appellation evokes the house’s “faubourg” address.
With the Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès, the exacting standards of Émile Hermès and Ettore Bugatti come
together for the first time, in an exceptional collaboration: the culmination of their extreme attention to
aesthetic and technological quality and performance.
Gabriele Pezzini has reinterpreted Bugatti’s traditional two-toned carriage work, fostering a fluid, harmonious
transition between the car’s exterior and interior design. The colour of the hood extends to the interior of
the cockpit, and re-emerges behind, at the level of the rear wing.
As a tribute to the celebrated 1924 Bugatti Type 35, undoubtedly the most famous of all time, thanks to its
many successes on the racetrack, the new Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès features eight-spoked wheels in
polished aluminium, central butterfly wheel locks branded with the letter H, and air vents around the rims
reproducing the characteristics appearance of Hermès saddle-stitching. The horseshoe radiator grille, and
the lateral ventilation grilles flanking it, are made from lightweight alloys with a design of interlocking H’s
evoking the Hermès “signature”.

A REFINED FORMAL VOCABULARY
The inner surfaces of the Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès have been designed and sheathed in bull calfskin
by the Hermès workshops in Paris. The care and attention to detail observe an extremely refined, minimalist
formal vocabulary, reflecting the tradition of the very first Bugattis and the fundamental design principles of
the house of Hermès. The door handles echo the fluid forms of handles on Hermès travel bags and luggage.
And the dashboard, traditionally finished in brushed aluminium, is here clad entirely in bull calfskin. Passengers
aboard the Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès will find a dashboard glove compartment designed to hold a
selection of small travel accessories and a zipped Hermès wallet. Both seats are covered in two-toned bull
calfskin, and the panel separating the cockpit from the central rear engine – traditionally made of carbon
fibre- is covered in the same fine leather. The leather-lined trunk holds a specially-fitted “Toile H” and
leather case, hand-made by the craftmen from the Hermès workshops.
This exceptional car is priced at 1.55 million Euros (not including taxes) and is available at the end of 2008.

Anyone knows when first customer Veyron Hermes will be delivered? I have read that all of them are already sold out. And as usually on mobile.de there are more advertisments offering Veyron Hermes then physically cars will be made :lol:

bugatti start delivered or the hermes ed. How many hermes bugatti sold? The number of hermes was added at 300 veyron coupe?

As I understood there will be 5 Hermes Veyrons, exact as Pur Sang and all of them already sold or spoken for. It will be extremaly interesting to see which colors customers will choose. I suppose this 5 Hermes edition Veyrons will be included in total 300 cars production run. With about 280 Veyron Coupees beeing reserved as for now there are not so much possibilities to get one. And the production time for one unit of special editions as Hermes and Sang Noir will be longer as on regular Veyron, that is why production time is till 2010, when Veyron Coupe production run will be closed.

The Hermes Edition is part of the 300 Veyron will be made. The Hermes is an option for the Veyron and wont be limited. As far as there is a demand for it they will produce it.

The Sang Noir is a special edition of 15 cars only will be made.

50 million yuan sports car makes its debut in Beijing


The Bugatti Veyron, a sports car priced at incredible 43 million yuan, recently made its debut in Beijing.


Reporters learned that this Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès, priced at 43 million yuan, is a display model for an Asia Pacific tour and only one such vehicle is produced every month. The annual production is expected to be around 14. Shanghai was the first leg of its Asia Pacific tour and then it was transported to Beijing, where it will continue on to be displayed in other Asian cities including Hong Kong. The vehicle is not for sale.

Just one tire for the Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès costs 40,000 yuan. The four tires plus a spare total 200,000 yuan, which is equal to a medium domestic-made vehicle. If Chinese clients want to buy a Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès, the actual market price including the vehicle purchase tax plus the imported vehicle consumption tax could total 50 million yuan.

The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 is considered the fastest moving vehicle of any mass-produced car in the world
